I was recently fortunate enough to be sent several 15mm packets of Falcon Figures miniatures by "The Quartermaster" for review. Included among the samples were one packet each of the following samples that I have scanned: The figures are made from lead-free pewter and come 8 per pack for infantry, 6 per pack for foot command, 4 per pack for cavalry, and 3 per pack for mounted command. Many of the War of Austrian Succession figures are equally usable as Seven Years War figures, as the on-line catalogue makes clear.
These figures are true 15mm figures, being around the same height as Essex figures but slightly less robust. I think that when painted, they would blend nicely with other figure brands such as Essex and Freikorps. They are well detailed and bear a minimum of flash or mold marks, thus reducing the amount of time normally spent trimming and filing prior to painting. Although made of lead-free pewter, they possess a fair amount of "give," and the wargamer needn't worry about any brittleness in the construction of these figures. I had no trouble smoothing a slightly bent flagpole, for instance. The above scans do not do these figures justice, but it was the best I could do. I emphasize that these are as they appear directly out of the package with no black wash, paint, filing, trimming, or other types of enhancement applied. They look a lot better when viewed with the naked eye. The scans are not to scale. These figures would make a fine addition to anyone's 15mm army. Packets sell for £1.50, or the U.S. or Canadian, etc. equivalent. They may be ordered from: The Quartermaster Falcon Figures Back to Seven Years War Asso.
