Update on
RSM 95 Miniatures

Figure Review

Reviewed by Jim Purky

In the Review & Outlook section of this issue, I recount how I am in the process of building a new French and Hanoverian set of armies to fight the Western Theater of the SYW in Germany. Since the majority of my Prussians and Austrians are composed of RSM figures, I wanted to add a number of these new units using RSM (in addition to some Old Glory, Front Rank and Elite figures).

So I got out an old issue of the SYWA Journal and looked up the advertisement for RSM 95 figures, now sold by The Dayton Painting Consortium, PO Box 24185, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. 1 called the phone number in the ad and found that it was no longer in service. To make a long story short, I wrote to Rich Massey, one of the proprietors of DPC and an Association member, and he called me back with information on how to order as well as the current phone number.

So if you are like me, and are anxious to place orders for RSM 95 figures, then call the company at its new phone number:

    (937) 667-1037

The postal address is still the same as listed above.

DPC packages the figures in large bags of 36 infantry figures for $23.40, or $0.65 per figure. This is an excellent deal when you consider that British imports are now costing $1.40 to $2.00 per figure these days.

The cavalry come in bags of 12 riders and horses, including command figures for $19.80 or $1.65 per set of horse and rider.

You can purchase artillery battery bags with 2 guns and 12 gunners for $11.80 per bag, or purchase the individual guns in pairs: 2x light guns for $4.00, 2x heavy guns for $5.00. This is highly favorable compared to the cost of a pair of Front Rank guns that cost me a heart-stopping $12.00 for a pair of guns!

Bags of generals (there is a joke in there somewhere) include 6 generals on horses for $9.90 a bag, or $1.65 per horse and rider.

There are a lot of good 25mm SYW figure producers out there these days, but the RSM figures stand the test of time in terms of appearance, quality and price.
