Waterloo Exhibition

Museum Diorama

by Jens Najewitz, Germany

We are a group of enthusiasts, “Freundeskreis Historische Miniaturfigur”, who collect 1:72 scale figures and have created a Waterloo-Diorama. This is some 40 Metres Square with 30,.000 Figures and is on display in the “Bomann Museum Celle.” The Museum also has many uniforms, weapons, paintings and artifacts of the Napoleonic Era, most specific to the Kings German Legion and the Hannoverian Army.

For our presentation we use all manufacturers of 1:72 figures. Most figures are converted from plastic and cast in tin, so we can have authentic poses which are not regularly supplied by the plastic manufacturers.

From 22-06-2003 to 16-11.2003 you can see our Waterloo Diorama. The Opening times are 10.00 - 17.00 (Closed Mondays). The presentation is very impressive and features, authentic terrain, the attack against Hougoumont, D´Erlons attack, the charge of the French cavalry. Very detailed and authentic models of the buildings of Waterloo: La Belle Alliance, Hougoumont, La Haye Sainte, Mont Saint Jean. For all who are not able to visit this exhibition, we will offer a multimedia CD, with all views of the Diorama. Also pictures of our past exhibitions will be included.
