Well, it's time for the usual Christmas message! Merry Christmas to you all and lets hope we all have a quiet time given current circumstances. As usual my thanks go out to all our contributors and subscribers, without whom FE isn’t possible.
First Empire is now becoming a more subscription only magazine, in the UK and Italy, if you will still be able to get it from selected stores as we will maintain current agreements. However, in the USA and the rest of the world you will have to subscribe direct.
This has been bought about by our American distributors deciding to put the retail price up to $10.00! These equate to a $60.00 per year subscription as opposed to our own subscription rate of $42.00! Bearing in mind the fact that we ship magazines individually to subscribers and that the distributors take a massive discount on the UK price and ship in bulk containers to the US, I think someone was extracting the urine somewhere down the line. Therefore, we no longer have American distribution (not that the financial contribution was that great anyway!) and should I decide to take another I will be controlling the US retail price.
So on that cheery note, please have a good holiday and the we will see you in February for issue 63 and I (hopefully) will be at the Napoleonic Fair in a personal capacity, so I may see some of you there.
