Next issue is the big 60, so can I ask all contributors to pitch in with some good battle articles to make it a bit special . . . Ta very much! I though that we would also try something a bit 19th Century - a serialised novel - and that is why we have By Whim of Fate, starting in this issue. I intend to publish two to three chapters per issue, thereby tying you all into long subscriptions as you crave each exciting episode! By Whim of Fate is by one of our long serving contributors, who decided to turn his hand to writing a “factional” historical novel, so its first ever publication in First Empire is in fact a major exclusive. I hope you will agree that the author should be applauded for his efforts!
