Its time to welcome on board Steve Vickers as our new Director with responsibility for the re-enactment activities that will be featured and promoted within First Empire. This is important for all of us as the next 20 years see bicentennials of anything worth mentioning, and of course this we need to bring people into the Napoleonic history fold at First Empire. I intend to keep First Empire as a broad church for all enthusiasts, so if you are a re-enactor there will be articles for you and if you're not they will be plenty of material to whet your whistle. We are trying to bring in more more specific wargaming material and with Paul Chamberlain's help we are expanding the research side. Hopefully, the French Commanders study group will be online by the time this reaches the presses. It should have been up about a fortnight ago - my apologies to Terry Senior - but we have installed a load of new equipment and restoring the status quo has taken longer than anticipated! First Empire 2001 We are formulating plans for a very big event in 2001, a First Empire show like you won't believe . . . more of this later in the year! Articles I find myself with loads of articles (which will find their way in over the next 12 months) but as happens occasionally, to keep a good mix, I need to ask all of you budding authors for more battle and wargame articles.
