Well I'm struggling to get this issue of the magazine out as I battle with my Tax forms, Pitt the Younger how I curse you. Of course that old black magic called Income Tax was brought 200 years ago this year as a temporary measure to fight Napoleon, at the magical rate of 1d in the £ , and even a single man on £ 10,000 per annum was paying only £ 100 after allowances! I have attempted to persuade Her Maj.'s inspector that I really am re-enacting Regency publishing , but she rather rudely informed me, as she removed her fangs from my jugular, that this was not on and to wait until Vampire Added Tax is applied to magazines! Dispatches Fans of Reader's wives, er, Letters, please do not panic, larger than usual articles, the new NA layout which at the time of writing I haven't seen yet ( So it had better be nice young Parker!), and additional advertising have meant that I have had to drop Dispatches. Dispatches will rise again next issue, supplemented by good stuff from The Moniteur (What do you mean you haven't visited the Web Site yet!?). So keep writing in. Talking of Web Sites First Empire is again the Top, No 1, Primo magazine on the MagWeb site, not bad out of 54 magazines and we have 6 articles in the top 100 favourite reads (if every mag was as popular as FE then we should only have 2!) so we must be doing something right.
