Well that was issue 3. Packed with even more articles than ever before yes the type has got smaller again, your eyes are okay! Hopefully you will have got something out of it. In this issue I have expanded the review section, although we didn't cover a vast range of products, I hope you will agree that the reviews were more in depth than you would usually expect to see. The readers letters section has expanded and it will continue to grow, even though in this issue I have had to leave out some of the recent correspondence, (it will be included next issue), so please keep writing, your news and views are appreciated.

It would appear that, judging by the vast influx of new subscriptions, that the concept of First Empire, i.e. a Wargaming Magazine for Napoleonic Wargamers, is and will continue to be what the Napoleonic wargamer wants. I'm not saying it's perfect, but we are getting there!

Unfortunately, many of the wargaming trade seem to feel that you do not warrant your own magazine, (obviously this does not apply to those far sighted traders advertising within!). Shame! You all scream in unison. How can we rally to you aid? You cry. Simple the next time you support you local trader, ask him why he doesn't support your magazine.

Is this a covert drive to put more money into the Watkins wallet? No, all revenue, and I mean all revenue, that is earned by First Empire is poured straight back into the magazine. The more revenue that comes in, the bigger and brighter the magazine that goes out. So go out and harangue a trader today! It will also prove that a) you actual read the editorial and b) just how many Napoleonic Gamers there are interested in First Empire. Just in case anybody tries to read between the lines, First Empire is going from strength to strength, not the other way around! I would just prefer that we get there sooner, rather than later.

Talking of cash, the wonderful GPO has increased it's prices, which means that unfortunately, the cost of subscriptions has had to increase. Details are on page 3. All subscriptions received before 30.10.91 will be honoured at the old rate.
