The Last Thing...

Dedication

This issue is dedicated to the memory of Ann Guise, 23.06.39 - 2.04.95. Without her support, general advice and guidance, this magazine would not exist. It may seem strange to see this in a magazine of this sort, but I feel that I at least owe her a public acknowledgement of her love, loyalty, honesty and friendship. Goodbye Mom and thanks, it will be fine.

Photos

New equipment has meant that I have been able to include additional photographs, hopefully you approve. Whilst not colour they are a step in the right direction and does enable various new avenues to be explored. Hopefully, the photo review, will have come out all right, it is very much an experiment but photographing 15mm models and blowing them up to nearly double their size is rather untried but hopefully will reveal more about the figures than an actual size shot.

Re-enactment Profiles

I had set off on trying to feature a unit from the NA in each issue. I was sourcing these articles myself, unfortunately in February I allowed someone to convince me that they could organise these articles. You will find the net result contained in issues 22 and 23 i.e. nothing. As such can I ask unit officers that if you would like a profile of your unit included in an issue of First Empire, along the lines of that of the 21ème, please call me direct on 01746 765691 and we can discuss what is required. I understand that this has helped the 21ème to expand both its size and profile. We are here to help, so use us.

Waterloo

Me, Barstow and Jonesy are off to fight the Brits, in some 1:1 scale wargaming, as such all three of us, clumsy gits that we are, are all quite confident of find a place on the roll of honour as wounded in action! If you can make it go. If you have never been to Waterloo before you will be amazed out how small the place is. En Avant!
