Napoleonic Association Events Diary

by Mike Freeman, Napoleonic Association

The reenactment season concluded with our event at Northolt over the August Bank Holiday. The reason I refer back to this is to let you all know what an honour and pleasure it was to see David Chandler back on his feet after being so seriously ill recently. David attended the event on the Sunday afternoon, and honoured us by inspecting all the Regiments on parade. The Brigade Commanders David Banks and Chris Perko presented David with a framed drawing of the Emperor by Terri Julians. I am sure all readers and NA members will join with me in wishing David a continued recovery.

Finally I would like to welcome a new Reenactment Unit to the NA.

The 71st Foot. Highland Light Infantry

A group of enthusiasts have recreated this famous regiment as historically correct as possible, with uniforms made from measurements taken from original patterns. Buttons have been cast from an original that was kindly loaned from the present day Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum, who have granted permission for the Unit and have continued to support them in their Research.

They meet throughout the year to practice drill, and would like to encourage people who are interested in Living History, and Musicians to join, along with their families.

If you would like to know more about this Unit, please contact Mike Foreman, 24 Highcroft Green, Parkwood, Maidstone, Kent. ME15 9PN.
