August will see a busy conclusion to Reenactment Events for this year.

Ramsgate - 6th, 7th August.

This event, sponsored by the 3rd Battalion, 1st Foot Guards, will centre on King George VI Memorial Park in Ramsgate where there will be a British Period encampment, as well as a French Bivouac throughout the weekend. The event itself will feature a parade through the Town on the Saturday, followed by a Battle reenactment on the Beach to simu-late a French landing. On the Sunday there will be living history displays and a further Battle, this time in the park itself.

Northolt - Sat, Sun, Mon, 27th to 29th August.

This Bank Holiday event will have something for everyone. The venue is the Taylor Woodrow Sports Complex in Broadmead Avenue, Northolt, Middlesex.

There will be displays on all 3 days featuring Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery as well as at least 3 Military Bands, both period and modern. You will be able to visit Wellington's Army in their encampment and the veteran's of the Grande Armee will be in Bivouac not far away.

The venue is open from 12 noon to 7pm, and the display will conclude with a Battle reenactment timed for 4pm on each day. As well as the Napoleonic Association there will be a fairground, refreshment marquees, and displays by the Parachute Regiment.

Wargamers reading this will be interested to know that at least 2 public participation wargames will be staged in a special marquee on each day.

Traders wishing to take advantage of the opportunity to display their wares should contact Mike Freeman (details below) as soon as possible.

First Empire Show. - Sunday 21st August.

The Napoleonic Association will be giving this event as much support as possible. Units wishing to set up recruitment stalls are welcome and Reenactors who would like to stage a small skir-mish (powder provided) should contact Mike Freeman as soon as possible.

With the Research Section meeting on the 1st October at the National Army Museum followed by the Peninsula Study Weekend - 26th,27th November detailed above you will see that the NA is a lot more than just a Reenactment Society.

Napoleonic Fair. - Sunday 5th February 1995 Details of this prestigeous show are now coming through. The venue will once again be the Royal National Hotel in Russell Square, London. There will be stands and facilities for all tastes - Wargames, Models, Books, Traders Stands and Uniformed displays.

Reenactment Units who would like to put up a recruitment display stand, and to take part in the parades etc should please contact Mike Freeman.

Whether your interest in the period is Research, Wargames or if you simply hanker after the chance to fire a Charville or Brown Bess musket the NA has something to offer you. Membership is only £ 15 and this includes a free subscription to FIRST EMPIRE.
