I've got to plug the `New Event of the Year' the Napoleonic Fair. See page 27 for details. The way things are shaping up, it would appear that matters are being organised at such a high level of professionalsim, that many show organisers had better sit up and take notice. First Empires involvement is this year mainly restricted assisting with publicity and promotion. And of course we will be there to see The Napoleonic Association mount guard in full uniform, David Chandler will open the event - probably his last public engagement before his retirement from Sandhurst... a good chance to ask him some really obscure ones?... - and Baron Gourgaud, the direct descendant of Napoleon's chef d'Ordonnance has agreed to be patron. There's a whole ruck of people who advertise with First Empire will be attending... I'm sure that you won't want to miss it so I will see you there too! We've being suffering an attack of the Gremlins round here lately, if it can go wrong it will. So apologies to all who ordered a print and received something only suitable to cut into squares and hang in the toilet. Remember the Post Office conspiracy? Well they struck again, "Use this style of square tube sir, guaranteed no problem". Oh yeah! The `no problem' involved appears to be that there is no problem to compress them using size 12 GPO boots into various elaborate - and I must admit - quite artistic shapes and sizes! So having paid out for the most expensive form of accommodation for said prints, we have now returned to the tried and trusted method. So all prints are now sent in tubes and are arriving in `mint condition'. (And I filling out a lot of claim forms!) So in conclusion, may I wish all our readers on behalf of all at First Empire a pleasant and Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! See you in `94!
