Postscript

For those of us "happily mingling with the numbers of military historians throughout the world who are keen to develop our ideas onto the tabletop" (with fond affection for the writings of the late Charles Grant) the following projects are well worth a look as "bespoke" wargames similar to the concepts proposed in FEVER ISLANDS - THE GAME :-

HARMAN, Arthur. Expedition to San Rosarjo (a mini campaign for 3 or more players), published in Miniature Wargames Magazine, October 1990 issue

McCOY PRICE, Tim. Windward Ho ! (a bulldog Publication, 1986)

Artlan's "fictitious" scenario (but with a strong factual back ground) develops into a three/four-cornered fight with ample opportunities for feats of daring-do. A certain Lt. Tobias Trumpeter, RN takes centre stage, in tangential deference to a world famous fictional character....

Tim's short booklet (home produced, I believe) is crammed full with juicy information for an enjoyable skirmish game based around the British Virgin Isles. Well worth acquiring (from the Conference of Wargamers or any of the major wargames shows or drop a line to the author via wargames press....)
