47th Regiment of Foot

Re-enactment Group UK

We are a new re-enactment unit portraying the above regiment during its period of service in the Colonies. Our main historical impression is that of a 'hat' comp. at around the time of Breeds Hill c1775, though we also do a late war impression c1780-3. Together with other AWI units around the country, we plan to take part in skirmishes, living history weekends, and of course our own events.

Based in the northwest of England, mainly from the Lancashire and Cheshire area, we are now recruiting. If you live in the north and would like to be part of a British Infantry unit of the AWI period, where the emphasis is on quality, not quantity, then we'd like to hear from you. Serious applicants only please.
