I was pleased to read Mike Partridge's answer to Q.16 on French Grenadiers as this helped to clarify my own understanding of the subject.

However, the problem still remains of a flag for the Grenadiers Royaux and the uniform facing colours. Was the flag the same as, or similar to, the Grenadiers de France? or was there no flag at all.

Were the facing colours different for each regiment or was it common to the brigade, and in any event, what were the colours?
