Sorry for the delay in the appearance of issue #3. It went to the publisher in November, but had to wait behind a stack of other Partizan Press books. The master copy of this issue is being prepared over the Easter weekend, and should be off to the printer by the end of the month. Apologies also to an number of people who sent in Notes and Queries which are missing from this issue. I managed to lose a folder of them while I was preparing this issue, although they have now reappeared, and will be printed next issue. Next issue should feature the conclusion to Almanza and Brave Admiral Benbow, the Royal-Suedois Regiment after the Revolution, colours of the Horse-Guards, French O.B. at Oudenarde, Gross-Jagersdorf 1757, the history of the India-Pattern musket, and varous Notes and Queries. It will go to the publisher as soon as I have a couple of pages of Notes and Queries, so the sooner you write, the sooner it will be ready. A correction to last issue: the captions for the illustrations to the Prussian Volunteer Units in the War of the Bavarian Succession were correct for the magazine as it left me, but somehow the pages got shuffled and the illustrations appeared in this order - Jager, Company von Spitznas; Private, Battalion von Steinmetz; Officer, Tartar Corps von Schill; Jager, Bischoffswerder Volunteer Corps. Apologies to Ralph Weaver. I produce the magazine and do the layouts myself - but only of the text and any integral illustrations - then sent the master copy to Dave who adds the adverts and other illustrations before sending the finished product off to the printer. I also edit the Arquebusier for the Pike and Shot Society, which deals with warfare from the late fifteenth century to the early eighteenth. Subscriptions are £ 9 per year, U.K. & BFPO, £ 11 for Europe or surface mail elsewhere, £ 16 airmail. Payments not in sterling, add £ 1 conversion charge. The magazine currently is 48 pages, A4 (double this magazine's page size). The maps accompanying Glenshiel in issue #1 were meant to be taken with a pinch of irony illustrating the shallowness of the research by some so-called 'professional' writers (those who wrote the books, not those who wrote the articles!). ???? of Darlington in last issue's [#2] Answers section is one Dave Walker. (Make sure your name on your letter is clearly marked!) The article on Marlborough's Campaigns is reprinted from Perfidious Albion, a games review magazine available from Charles Vasey at 75 Richmond Park Road, East Sheen, London SW14 UY. 75p in the UK 11 overseas. The scenario map for Killiecrankie in #2 was replaced by the Publisher's Note after the magazine left me.
