39: GIBRALTAR MUTINY
In Captain John Drinkwater's 'A History of the I-ate Siege of Gibralter, with a description and account of the Garrison from the earliest periods' [London 1785], mention is made of an attempted mutiny by a part of the garrison in about 1760. Men of several regiments were said to have been involved and a soldier named Read [no relation] of the 9th Foot was executed. Can anyone provide further details of the incident and the units involved. ? 40: LE COMPTE DE MERODE-WESTERLOO'S INFANTRY
Does anyone have the uniform and colour details of the above regiment in French service during the War of the Spanish Succession?
