Ordin\u00f2 al generale von Fran\u00e7ois di ritirarsi. La Prima Armata russa continu\u00f2 a spingersiverso ovest, addentrandosi ulteriormente nella Prussia Orientale. La successiva grande battaglia ebbe luogo tre giorni dopo, nei pressi della citt\u00e0 di Gumbinnen (l&#8217;odierna Gusev in Russia).
