Today I had a great game with Robert. We have played the Battle of Vimerio<\/a> using the BBB rules frommChris Pringle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figures we used were superbly pained by Robert, 6mm from Baccus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porto Novo is the British landing site<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Here are the bulk of the british troops on the big ridge line<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

From this side the flanking column is comeing, it is made of the Frech cavalry division and one infantry brigade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The surroundings of Vimeiro are well defended. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
This brigade will take a five hour long assault from the Division led by Junot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The four converged grenadier battalions lead four headlong assaults. They are always repulsed and they always reform and attack anew.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
This is the final attack by Junot. Also this one will be repulsed. But the British have taken heavy losses as well, a new brigade arrives in support.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A french battery is moved to better support the attack. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
http:\/\/At canister range causes many losses to the enemy, but they are silenced and forced to retire.<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The flanking attack by the french manages to reach the heights around Vimeiro, to scatter three British brigades at first, but then the British reform and focus all their efforts in repulsing the French. At the end of the day all french troops have retreated. Porto Novo, menaced by the flanking force, is saved by a British cavalry charge and some stubborn units holding the key village leading to the port.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
