A very enjoyable game organised by Maurizio, with Marco playing the Perfida Albione and me as French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game scenario was built by Maurizio, fully based on the original battle (The battle plan shown below is taken from Wikipedia)<\/a>, we used a 240×180 table to play this battle, which originally extended over many kilometres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game played very well with the BBB rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may find the battle report in the photo captions. The attack of Graham never materialised, since the full D’Erlon Corps was defending the hills north of Vitoria and Graham had lost two divisions along the way to the battlefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hill advances on the Colinas De La Puebla, towards Gazan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

On the forefront Gazan’s divisions. In Vitoria Reille is defending the town, while D’Erlon is defending the approach from Bilbao.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The battle develops mainly on the heights of Puebla and essentially in a full frontal assault from West, withDerlon and Reille engaged one after the other. A charge of the French Dragoons causes the British Guard cavalry division to retire!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The hills are finally taken by the allied troops, after a fierce engagement and two counterattacks. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The french manage to pur a second line to stop the British on the plain, but the troops on the hills are free to menace and possibly reach Vitoria. The French will have to retire from the battlefield not to be cut from the supply road from France!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
