The initial troop dispositions must follow the historical settings, but battle plan is left to the generals, and reinforcements may arrive at different times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scale on table is 25cm = 1km. One battalion in line of 500-600 men occupies about 200m. Troops move about 1m per hour on table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orders travel at a faster speed, but can be changed only by troops which have an active “Change of Situation”, new enemy threat or messages from other officers in their command chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French Army<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
  • Army wagons and HQ in Castiglione. 25 cm long in march column.<\/li>
  • Despinois arriving from Brescia, from west during morning.<\/li>
  • Rest of french divisions move from Castiglione early morning.<\/li>
  • Line of communication is from Castiglione going west, towards Brescia.<\/li>
  • All divisions may put light troops out of the main battle line.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The Austrian Army<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
    • HQ in Guidizzolo<\/li>
    • Wagons can be positioned anywhere close to troops. They are a 50 cm long column in march and travel all together (2 km for about 200 wagons). They can be split.<\/li>
    • Weidenfelt arriving from Peschiera, from north-east, during morning.<\/li>
    • Two redoubts battery-size, one in “monte” Medolano (5 metres high!), the other near Solferino.<\/li>
    • Meszaros will arrive in the afternoon from south-east.<\/li>
    • Bajalich and Vukassevich sieging Peschiera, 20km away, north-east.<\/li>
    • The rest of the austrian divisions can be between Solferino, Medola and Guidizzolo.<\/li>
    • Line of communications is the road toward the Mincio, leading east.<\/li>
    • Ligth troops present with Schubirz, Meszaros, Bajalich, Vukassevich.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
