The Wargame The game covers the period from the beginning of the Federal attack until just before the Confederate counterattack, 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Rebel cavalry start dismounted and do not have bayonets. On the map, I have amalgamated their brigade strengths to provide two large regiments. If you wish to provide the individual cavalry regiments, they should line the road to the right of Hannon's position. Deployment Deployment is as per the map. Lowrey's Brigade arrives at point A at 4:15 pm. In order to imitate some of the battle's confusion, roll dice for further reinforcements. On turn 1, roll a D6 for Gibson's Brigade. A roll of 6 is required for entry. Reduce this by 1 for each subsequent turn until he arrives. Do the same for both Quarles and Knefler, starting at 5:15 pm. Victory Conditions The Federals must turn the Confederate flank by occupying the large field to the south of Pickett's Mill. The Rebels must inflict forty percent casualties on the Yankees.
