Notes from the Editor . . .

Dave Reynolds

The Spring 1996 issue of The Zouave sees an increase in cover and subscription prices made necessary by rising production and postal costs. The last time we adjusted the price of The Zouave was in 1988. While regretting the present increase, we also take pride in holding the price stcady for eight years.

On the subject of production, in addition to all those members who have submitted articles, I would like to thank Jeff Farmer, who creates your magazine on the Mac, and Lloyd Eaker, JL, who prints your magazine, for their splendid efforts, without which there would not be a Zouave to deliver to you!

Chris Johnston, one of the authors of the Shenandoah systems, is working on a module of Sherman's Atlanta Campaign. More on this later.

In this issue, you will find articles on figure painting, biographies, the conquest of Nicaragua, reviews, Fire & Fury rules updates, two battle scenarios, and terrain-making.

On the subject of building terrain, there are more and more services to tempt us. Be sure to see the ad [in the paper version of the magazine] of Bob Lehman (a fellow ACW Society member) in this issue; his work is great and his prices are reasonable! Check it out!

Draw the wagons a little closer...
