The following is taken from F. Redlich's The German Military Entrepreneur And His Workforce C13th - C17th, Wiesbaden 1964 and details two Bavarian regiments in 1646. FOOT REGIMENT
314 Women and Children 74 Servants 3 Sutlers HORSE REGIMENT
236 Servants 102 Women and children 9 Sutlers Between them the two units had 1,072 Horses for 961 fighting men. Of these 961 some 66% were veterans by this date. The relative number of servants sheds some light on the social class of the Horse, unless grooms were counted as personal servants.
