Wargames Foundry Figure Review
Sikh Wars

by Richard Brooks

These are typically great figures you expect from Wargames Foundry. Although they are irregular infantry for the Sikh Wars, I much prefer to use these as their secondary use as Afghan tribesmen. All these will paint up very nicely after clean up and a good washing before undercoating them. I would suggest a dark brown rather than black or white. Come with Shields when appropriate.

SK119 Chieftain, regal bearing, decorative sword belt, standing with sword resting on ground. One of my favorites, many layers of clothes, tulwar in belt, flintlock pistol, great heavy jewelled necklace.

SK120 Chieftain helmet mailed neckguard, mailed shirt holding tulwar and flintlock pistol.

SK121 Chieftain advancing, shouting, open handed, great animation.

SK122 standard bearer advancing, shouting (like he's offering his men all thc Englishmen they can kill), knife in cumberbund, very nice animation.

SK123 drummer, looks like he's just about to hit the drum with his right hand while having hit it with his left.

The following apparently come in a variety of heads and slight variation in clothing to give a more irregular appearance, works for me. The variety may extend to powder horns and knives, each seems to have a d1fferent one.

SK124 standing holding a matchlock, very sad expression on his face.

SK125 marching with matchlock on shoulder, turban tied down with scarf, nice sword belt.

SK126 advancing at high porte, barefoot.

These last two would make a very nice beginning to an irregular militia force.

SK127 in sandles, advancing with matchlock, great expression, well animated, great details.

SK128 standing firing matchlock, nice beard.

SK129 my least favorite figure, barechested, standing holding spear and shield is needed.

SK130 spearman advancing, barechested, shield needed, open handed, nice detail with clothes will paint very well.

SK131 spearman running, open handed, needs shield, very nice, good animation, open hand could carry standard and look great.

SK132 swordsman advancing, barechested, shield needed, nice figure, I would prefer sword further away from chin, but nice animation.

SK133 swordsman advancing, needs shield, detail on legs could be better (smoother) but otherwise good pose.

SK134 swordsman attacking, shield needed, shouting, I like this figure, great animation, realistic pose.

I can't wait to get this finished so I can paint these and add them to my Afghan force of Wargames Foundry figures. I just finished painting the mounted Afghan from WF, this will really bolster my Afghans. How about some kneeling and prone firing - WF?
