A lot on offer in the list sent with these samples: 11 cavalry, 22 infantry, medical staff, bandsmen, command personalities and vignettes! I have 11 figures and a horse to list, comment upon and some to draw. A general comment I must make as a reviewer of more than twenty years standing. Dixon's are always ready to send review figures. Some firms never do without some, polite, badgering. Some firms did when they started up and now they are doing nicely will "think about it". Means "forget it". Some firms of course have been taken over or "gone to the wall," God bless them. I'm getting a bit tired of writing reviews actually probably too much Christmas pudding. However, that written, here we go! The greater majority of this Dixon's range has 15 to 20 different heads per code, also a choice of hat or kepi. Vignette.ACW VG2 Sniper, frock coat, lying behind earth mound reaching into cartridge box. The earth mound is separate and well modelled. The figure has the rifle with a barrel-long sniper sight. A new aspect for your wargame -- putting generals at risk! InfantryACW 288 frock coat, charging. Fixed bayonct. A good action pose. Waterbottle, knapsack and cartridge box accoutrements. ACW 289 frock coat, falling forwards (no head variants). He wears a kepi. The musket is cleverly placed between open hands. Good modelling. ACW 290 frock coat, lying dead face down (no head variant). Rather nasty hole in the back of his head, uppermost, actually. Do for either side as decoration or 'state of unit' marker. Artistic right hand twisted palm uppermost. Face fully modelled even though he is face down. ACW 292 Drummer frock coat marching. A replica of one of the tin-types of hollow faced little lads who went off to this cruel war. Good modelling. ACW 293 Infantry - Open shell jacket, barefoot - advancing fixed bayonct (Con.) - or "Sesesh" if you will. Long hair and slouch hat - hole-in-the-knee trousers. ACW 294 Short sleeves, barefoot, advancing, fixed bayonet, (Con.) kepi. Good action. ACW 295 Open shell jacket, barefoot, standing firing (Con.). A good "in-the-shoulder" pose and crisp details of other equipment worn. A patched knee. This one has a kepi - but remember, the heads available are many and various. ACW 296 Shell jackct, barefoot - kneeling, biting cartridge (Con.) Percussion cap box at his waist. The South confiscated all the copper vessels they could find to be turned into p.caps. His bare elbows stick out of his shirt sleeve. Some great characterisation touches on this model. ACW 297 Shell jacket, kneeling firing. Good position. Really charater-ful face and roll brim slouch hat. CavalryACWC 25 Charging, open shell jacket - sword at armn's length. Sharps carbine at his right side. Pistol holstered on his right thigh - on H44 Horse at canter - head up. Good action and the rider fits well.
