Subscriber Perks I still have miniatures to give subscribers. I can't believe ya'll (that is a non-derogatory southern term for anybody but yourself) haven't replied to send me the particulars of your armies (units, manufacturers and scale). I have free stuff for ya'll, now send me something so I can hep (also southern, for help) you fill your ranks. Note: This applies to PRINT subscribers only--RL As you will see there are lots of figures to review (great stuff). Ron Lizorty has written a great article on my favorite colonial period movie (No, not Zulu that's in a tie for second) with photos (great centerfold with those strategically placed staples, wow!!!). Future Choices Actually there is so much new stuff and articles (but I want more articles from you) that I could expand to more pages, unfortunately that would mean a price increase and I don't know that you subscribers would agree to that. Essentially, it would mean increasing the number of sheets from about 10 (40 pages) to about 15 (60 pages) each issue depending on weight it could go to 18 sheets (72 pages). That would allow for more photos and maps. The price would have to increase as well from $12 in the US a year to $25 in the US. Yes I know that doubles the pricce we are at the extreme end of it costing more now, I make a whopping $6 a year from The Heliograph. Right now because more than six of you have moved without telling me until The Heliograph comes back and has to be mailed out again. I am down to about $1 in earnings or less than the cost of one figure. Don't be fooled by the doubled price, it doesn't mean I will make any money on this, I never intended to, but I would like to make expenses. Think about this idea, I definitely want feed-back from you. I don't need to know until the first of the year when subscriptions begin to run out again. It also doesn't mean I will begin it at the first of the year, I would probably wait until issue 100 or 101 if you want me too, but you have to let me know if you will support it or not. I kind of joke about stealing other peoples ideas to use in your home rules and to a certain extent it's ok. Just remember that you can't publish them as your own and to give credit where it is due. Christmas Strategies This issue will seem like a Christmas issue with all the reviews, so get your significant other or whatever to make note of what you want for Christmas, it's never too soon, I started mine in April. Please don't forget to tell these manufacturers that you saw the review here as that will help keep The Heliograph moving smoothly and strongly along.
