The Heliograph I have received the newsletter The Heliograph which is being produced these days by Richard Brooks (P.O. Box 718, Swansea, SC 29160-0718, U.S.A., email brooksr@garnet.cla.sc.edu ), a bi-monthly production 20 pages covering the various aspects of colonial warfare during the 19th and early 20th centuries, plus reviews of new figures. The annual subscription is U.S.A. $12.00 while the U.K. is £ 15.00, Richard will take sterling i.e. £ 10 & 5 Notes. Partizan Press Publications Dave Ryan of Partizan Press and Caliver Books has over the past years sent me numerous copies of his various journals which have now fully blossomed into full blown glossy magazines, I have seven different titles in front of me ranging from the Renaissance, English Civil War, The 18th Century, The Age of Napoleon, Colonial Conquest, a Dungeons & Dragon ® title [Valkyrie, includes sci-fi--RL], plus the more generally known magazine Battlefields. I must admit that Dave is one of the people who I admire, he has managed to create and produce these magazines from thin air and with, in my opinion, the gradual demise of both Military Modelling and Military Illustrated from very interesting uniform and historical magazines into shadows of themselves will only help such magazines from the stable of Dave to gain ground and support from people like myself. For further information write to Dave Ryan, 816-818 London Road, Leigh - On - Sea, Essex SS9 3NH, ENGLAND. Boletin Oficial 1870-1873 Just obtained "Boletin Oficial desde el 28 de Noviembre de 1870 hasta el 7 de Enero 1873" published in La Paz de Ayacucho, Bolivia during these dates with 117 issues not on a regular basis but at least not missing any copies, each one being from 4 -6 pages in length. It will need me to go through each page to find out where, if any, there are useful decrees on the Bolivian Army and National Guard or uniforms etc. if I find anything earth-shanering I'll type it up for E.D.
