It is with great regret that I have to inform you of the death of my friend Juan M. Ricardes of Buenos Aires, who died just before Christmas, from an illness that he had suffered with for some time. He was a respected wargamer and figure collector in Argentina, while also being a member of the Club del Soldado de Plomo in Buenos Aires. Juan volunteered to become this society's agent in Argentina two years ago in an attempt to gain recognition of our efforts by Argentine military historians and Societies, alas his illness hindered this goal, although always willing to assist with any questions that I may have wanted answered, if only to confirm a negative response or answer. I did manage to see him while he was on a European vacation early last year with his wife, they were staying in London and I suggested that if they wanted to catch a train to York, I could use a day's leave to meet both of them there and show them the sights of that city, which they did I am glad to say. I am sure that other members who knew Juan in Argentina would agree that he will be sadly missed not only by his family but also by his many friend around the world.
