At last after a number of hitches on my computer that nearly drove me to despair, plus the normal run of the mill scenarios of home life and busy days at work and the few chances to get to grips with my text for the book that I'm trying to put together, while also helping Ron Field with his work on the U.S.-Mexican War of 1846-8 to be published by Brassey's early next year, has made this latest issue a wee bit late to say the least. So please accept my apologies ( hey, it's real good to have an automatic word check as some of you will know it's not my best subject ). El Dorado on the Web Other things which have happened so far this year is that El Dorado is on the internet, under this number; http://www.magweb.com it's based in the U.S. but with the internet the price is the same for the U.K.; If you are on the internet give it a quick try to see just what's there. Also I have an email address which is; scamhs@softnet.co.uk although I still have not had enough spare time to sort out some of the finer points of this, hopefully my son James and his friend Ben will put me on the straight and narrow in regards to this annoyance. For anyone who's interested I'm using Microsoft Word 7.0 and Microsoft Publisher with Norton Utilities as a safeguard, this might mean very little to most of you but it may make sense to a few. As I'm feeling a bit guilty about being behind with this issue I will increase the content of El Dorado by 4 pages from this issue onwards, hopefully this will not push it into a higher postage rate? Alas I still haven't mastered the art of scanning in line drawings into the text, but that will happen sooner or later. Before we progress to the review of books and magazines I would like to thank both lan Sumner and Mike Blake for their help and advise with the computer problems that have beset me this year, also Ian and Mike have both assisted me with 3 wargame conventions that this society has taken part in during the later part of this year, by having a table and generally letting wargamers know that there is scope for any number of games involving Latin America and on most periods. Well I'd better get on with the real work and try to clear my table top of books, all my very best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year. T.D.H.
