Chuck Cook, of Quality Castings, has recently released all three major Panther variants, as well as the JagdPanther, in 15mm. By producing early and late hulls, turrets, and cupolas, Chuck again managed to get more variants out of a set of castings than one would expect. I checked the JPz V, Pz Va, and Pz Vd against the plans and dimensions in my Bellona Military Vehicle Prints (Series 8, Series 26, and Series 26, respectively) and everything measured out within 1mm or so of the models' declared 1/108th scale. Detailing, as usual, is very good. All of the models came with the now standard pairs of cupolas - open and closed, with tank commanders for the open cupolas. Recently, QC has begun to vary equipment among various copies of a single model. That is, if one buys a three-pack of Pz Vgs, ones likely get different baggage stowage, spare track links, etc., on each of the models. This, along with the choice between open and closed cupolas, and the wide selection of tank commanders available, allows one to build and paint units with more variety than ever before. If you're riding the wave of new 15mm WW II releases, you'll want a platoon (or even company) of Panthers from Quality Castings. Available for $6.25 from your local gameshop or directly from the Quality Castings at PO Box 11714, Alexandria, VA 22312.
