TUMBLING DICE MINIATURES
WWI/WWII

British Canadian/New Zealand Infantry in Shorts, 1914-40, by Tumbling Dice Miniatures. This batch consisted of a dozen troopers weighing in at 17/18H BM*.

Their animation is average - the walking troop has both feet flat on the ground; the advancing troop has, at least, the toes on one foot raised. Proportions are a bit chunkier than average. Equipment detailing is extensive, sharp, and just a tad heavy. My impression was that the equipment was just a bit overscale relative to the figures, the officer's pistol looking more like a musket than a Webley, and most rifles having the heft of an LMG. The one figure I've painted, painted up well, but, short and stocky as they are (most of the other samples came in at 20M/H*), you'll want to be careful when mixing them with other manufacturers' troops. Depending on pack size, these troops run around $.71 per figure. From Brookhurst Hobbies - BILL RUTHERFORD

* The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurement [BM] System to simplify comparison of figure sizes. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
