DREW'S MILITIA
20MM AFRIKA KORPS

The six-figure command group (DK3) is well thought out and includes a pair of officers, an NCO, a radioman with radio, and a pair of signal troops holding maps, etc. All in all, a nice command group. They weigh in at 20/21M/H BM*. Animation is good, with the exception of one messenger whose pose I tried (unsuccessfully) to duplicate, and proportion is OK.

Detailing is somewhat accentuated, as seems normal for 20s. Webgear looks as if it's being worn, but equipment is heavy (the canteens looked like they'd easily hold half gallons of water...) and also a bit fuzzy. The weapons generally looked good, but I had to look hard to find the MP40s on two of the samples carrying them.

One thing I liked about these figures was that nothing stuck out. Look sometime at photos of infantry in the field: they may be covered in gear, but nothing sticks out - everything seems somehow imbedded. Drew s Militia captures that look. These figures will fit well - both in heft and detailing style - with the majority of 20mm WWII troops you're likely to field. Depending on pack size, these figures sell for around $1.00 per figure. BILL RUTHERFORD

* The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurement [BM] System to simplify comparison of figure sizes. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
