These figures from Two Dragons Productions are interesting because of their finely sculptured features as well as they're timely additions to popular armies. The Samurai figure (SAM 65) comes in a pack of ten castings all in the same pose. Using the Barrett scale, he is almost exactly 15mm, fitting in well with the smaller 15mm lines. Looking like he has stepped right out of SHOGUN, the figure is charging forward with his sword in front, holding his scabbard and screaming at his enemies! The shaved head with topknot, familiar headpiece and samurai armor all are well done for this scale of figure. All in all, a nicely done warrior to enhance any Japanese army from the 1100-1615 period. The Dark Age figure is actually a levy warrior (DAP 25), useful to those who wish to fill out the armies of pre-conquest and post-conquest England as well as the arriere-ban levies of Feudal Europe. This figure is on the small side, about 14mm in height, with a medium build. While not as well animated as the Samurai figure, he is still well done striding forward with his spear held upright and large wooden shield to the side. Two Dragon Productions figures cost $4.29 for 10 figures. These were sent by Yonan Badal, 2421 N. Greenview Ave., Chicago, IL 60614. and are now available from Brookhurst Hobbies --TERRY GORE ED NOTE: I am not sure if Yonan still has them for sale or if they are exclusive with Brookhurst. Write both for availability.--DB * The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurement [BM] System to simplify comparison of figure sizes. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
