Quality Casting has reduced prices on a number of their 15 mm WWII artillery pieces and platoon packs, and has begun packaging many vehicles in 3-packs at lower prices. Guns are also now available either individually, in a pack with three crew, or in a battery pack of 3 guns, 9 crew, and 2 command figures. Recent releases include redone versions of the Russian and German 120 mm mortars, the US 57 mm AT gun and the UK 6-pdr field gun. There are new poses for Russian ATR teams, US Bazooka teams, German light flak an 88 rnm gun crews, German tank hunter teams Afrika Korps platoon and British 8th Army platoon.

New items include a French 75 mm M1897 field gun with rubber tires, German Pz V Panther A, D, and G variants, JgPz V tank destroyer, 88 mm flak 36, 2 cm flak 38 ground mount, 2cm quad flak ground mount, and 3.7 cm ground mount; all the flak guns have a trailer and crew included. There is also a US 105 mm howitzer and 3 in AT gun, a British 17-pdr AT gun, and a Russian GAZ AAA heavy truck. The armored vehicles all come widh bodh open and closed cupolas and a tank commander figure. Stone Mountain Miniatures has announced that it will donate a portion of the profits from their 15 mm ACW line to the Civil War Battdefield Preservation Fund. The Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to purchasing batdefield sites dhat are in private hands to prevent commercial development.

Neglected Heroes: Leadership and War in the Early Medieval Period is a new book by Terry Gore, arguing that medieval leaders effectively exercised command and control before, during, and after battle. Published by Praeger, the 240 page book is priced at $55 (ISBN 0-275-95269-X)

Redoubt has started a new line of Trojan War figures in 25 mm. The first releases include portrait figures of Agamemnon, Odysseus,and Priam at $4.50 apiece, and Sarpedon in a chariot with driver for $16.50. Achilles, Hector, and Paris, each apparently accompanied by a shield bearer are $7.50 apiece, while Ajax is $9.00. Spearmen advancing or defending in loincloths, linen cuirass, or bronze cuirass are available in packs of 6 for $13.50 with your choice of shield type and a variety of head and helmet types in each package. Variously posed archers and slingers are also in 6-packs at $9.50, while light chariots, complete with horses, driver, and warrior in linen, bronze, or Dendra armor are priced at $15.50 to $16.50.

There are also a number of additions to the AWI range, including Hessian artillerists, grenadiers, command figures, musketeer drummer, and fusilier officer. There are two minutemen, a militia drummer, and two Continental Marines. The Wellington in India line has been expanded by the addition of 6 native cavalrymen: with bow, tulwar, battle axe, lance, firing rocket strapped to left arm, or in mail armor, and three new native horses for them to ride. There are 10-packs of natives with or without headgear carring an assortment of non-firearm weapons. These are two-part castings to provide additional variety for the armies of both sides. Specialty items include a bullock cart, camelier (and camel) with bag of rockets, tiger mortar with crew, Wellington with aides, and a mounted British colonel. Infantry and mounted figures are $1.50, horses $2.50.

Bull Dancer Miniatures is also producing Trojan War figures in 25 mm, sculpted by Geoffrey Valley and cast by Randy Hoffa of C in C. The line includes packages of six early Mycenean spearmen or archers ($6.00), and Mycenean or Trojan light javelinmen with helmet and shield ($7.20). Pass of the North has issued a batch of new figures appropriate to the American West in 25 mm. These include a bartender, barmaid, banjo player, piano player, blacksmidh, and four gamblers at a table. The 7th Cavalry is represented by five dismounted and four mounted troopers, and the five Buffalo Soldiers have been redesigned. There are one trotting and two galloping horses for the cavalry. Old Glory has a veritable swarm of new stuff out. The new lines include foot and mounted Gauls and Romans in 25 mm (28 packs), Mexican American War in 25 mm (10 packs), Seven Years War in 25 mm (15 Prussian and 16 Austrian packs), and WWII in 15 mm. This last line is a joint enterprise with Skytrex, and begins with British, American, German, Russian, andJapanese infantry, generally comprised of packs of command, riflemen, LMG. HMG, light mortars, heavy mortars, infantry AT teams, tank, halftrack, truck, AT gun, artillery and jeep crews. Vehicles are in packs of 3, generally for $16.00, and guns in packs of 6 for $12.50. So far the Germans have seven vehicles and two AT guns, the British seven vehicles and two AT guns. the Americans four vehicles and two AT guns, and the Russians five vehicles.

Additions to established lines include the ACW in 15 mm (8 new infantry and personality packs plus supply wagons, ambulances, and a hospital brigade) and in 15 rnm (6 packs of command and generals). There are Napoleonic 15 mm Prussian infantry and artillery (12 packs), Russian generals, and artillery limbers and teams for the major powers (6 packs). Jacobite Miniatures has a new batch of 15 mm Renaissance Swiss, covering three periods. The early (1315-145()) period has pikes at charge and order, three types of halberdier, foot and mounted crossbowmen, man-at-arms, and infantly command. The Burgundian Wars has four pike, two halberd, handgunner. foot and mounted crossbow, man-at-arms, and command. Wargames Foundry as usual has more new releases than can be counted. One line of particular note is the Biblical Wars, with about 90 new Egyptian, Hittite, Canaanite, Phoenician, and Hyksos figures in 25 mm. Among these are four Egyptian and two Canaanite/Hyksos chariots. The Sikh Wars line has also had a major addition of 60 figures and a 6 pdr gun, while the Nortwest Frontier line now has 40 British, Gurkas, and Indians opposed by 30 Afghans.
