Wellington's India Battles range was released this spring. Only the
most ardent Napoleonics players are aware of the fighting in India from
1797-1805. The Mysore and Mahratta Wars tied down thousands of
British troops and sailors. The mix of variety of troops on both sides
makes for colorful battles in exotic places. The Courier received several
of these figures for review. They are large with the average at 32M
Barrett Measure. These are excellent figures well animated and
historically detailed. The most interesting of the lot was the native
irregular advancing with rockets (IN118). The infantryman advancing
(IN11) was also very nice. The Highland officer (IN19) the Sergeant
with pike (IN4), the Indian Prince (IN100) and the Arab mercenary
(IN125) were all satisfactory. This is an excellent period for skirmish
battles or full-size pitched ones. A campaign in India would liven up any
club's gaming nights. These are available from Miniature Service Center,
1525 Bridge #163, Yuba City, Ca. 95993, (916)-673-5169 for $1.50 for
foot. -JIM BIRDSEYE
