MORE WHITE WOLF LAYOFFS??? This info is from an "inside source." On Tuesday December 19th, 16 White Wolf employees were laid off. It was noted that most of the people laid off had worked throughout the year at slashed wages. It was also said that within the WW offices an "old boys' network" is still upheld, all making salaries way out of scale with the salaries of other employees. Any challenge to this power structure, or questioning of ethics is not looked upon kindly despite an open door policy within the company. Mark ReinHagen is leaving WW, selling his interest back to Stewart Wieck. Mark will be retaining the rights to the WORLD OF DARKNESS and the SF game EXILE to be produced by his own Null Foundation. It was mentioned that Mark may want WW to distribute his game though the idea 'in house' is unpopular. Outstanding debts and overspending coupled with mismanagement are being blamed for the troubles though WW made over 10 million dollars in 1995. The plan is to sell Mark's interest in the company and use the funds to pay off some outstanding dept. Two negotiations are underway: The first with Wizards of the Coast and the second with the head of Chessex - a major game distributor. TSR On December 20th, 1996 over 20 people were fired from TSR, which is reported to be in deep financial trouble. Along with these troubles is the ending of the RPGA Network. ALSO... The contract between TSR and Ral Partha to produce the AD&D ® line of miniatures has ended in December 1996. Figures should be available for some time as distributors stocked up before the end of the deadline. At this time a new manufacturer is unknown.
