CANCELLED GAME LINES FINDS A HOME A few months ago, Wizards of the Coast announced the disposition of ARS MAGICA and EVERWAY. The ARS MAGICA game has gone to Atlas Games of Roeeville, MN. Atlas Games publishes the OVER THE EDGE RPG and ON THE EDGE trading card game. John Nephew of Atlas states "Support plans remain sketchy but I believe a fairly modest quarterly release schedule of substantial sourcebooks best serves the devoted ArM audience". For more info contact Atlas Games at atlasgames@aol.com. EVERWAY will be produced by Pagan Publishing of Seattle, WA. Pagan Publishing is the licensed producer of CALL OF CTHULHU game supplements and the UNSPEAKABLE MAGAZINE. Pagan first intends to complete WoTC's projected support products such as SPHEREWALKERS SOURCEBOOK. Thereafter, Pagan plans two types of EVERWAY game support: scenarios and sourcebooks aimed at the core gaming audience. For more info you can contact Pagan Publishing at: paganpub@aol.com. After last month's split between Hero Games and it's long time publisher, Iron Crown Enterprises, Hero has found a new home for its CHAMPIONS and HERO SYSTEM game lines. The new publisher is Gold Rush Games of Elk Grove, CA. For more info contact Mark Arsenault at: goldrushg@aol.com. NAME CHANGE After a few months of member debate, the Small Game Publishers Asociation (SGPA) has officially changed its name to Game Publishers Association (GPA). This organization is a great resource for the starting game publisher. The decision for a name change was prompted by members concerns with the preconcieved connotations of the word "small" and its impact on a starting game company. Membership info can be requested by contacting Ann Dupuis, Grey Ghost Press Inc., PO Box 838, Randolph, MA 02368 or at: ghostgames@aol.com CORRECTION Correcting and updating a report that appeared in CHAIN MAIL #39 on White Wolf layoffs: WW president Steven Wieck says fewer than 15 employees were laid off, and "management absolutely did not spend several days after the announcement deciding which employees would be let go. Within a couple of hours after the meeting, everyone who was let go was notified. The entire process was handled in one day. To suggest thatJennifer Hartshorn or anyone else was singled out during the layoffs is totally inaccurate, and such false reports imply malice on the part of myself and White Wolf's management that is entirely contrary to the sorrow we felt concerning the layoffs." CLUB NEWS Dragonslayers Unlimited and CHAIN MAIL will be listed in the FANDOM DIRECTORY #17 1997-1998 Edition. The FD ia an international listing of stores, clubs, conventions, fans of comics, wargaming, roleplaying, horroe, etc ....The listings for the club and newsletter are free. I hope this will help generate some new members. ALSO..CHAIN MAIL will be listed on the Coalition Web. Coalition Web lists many different game magazines and newsletters on its service and pays royalties to publications when their material is read. This should generate a modest amount of money for the club AND recruit new members. * I am in need of as many back issues as I can get. The more issues listed the more readers we will get hitting the service. Back issues may be sent to Jay Wirth, 335 Torrance Ave. Vestal, NY 13850. Postage will be reimbursed.
