Greetings Dragon Slayers! Today I will share something that has taken awhile to acquire. But I believe you will find it quite interesting. I have finally tracked down that so elusive Dragonsword I've mentioned so many time in the past. As like as adventure in search of an ancient relic of legend; when it's found it at most times is found with a horde of treasure. And that is the case here as if I had stumbled on to a dragons lair; of a dragon that only collected weapons instead of gold pieces and gems. Art Gladius is the name of the wholesale manufacturers of a multitude of beautiful weapons. I will provide you with places to find these works of art retail. Art Gladius carries on the Toledo swordcraftmanship of old. To start they offer a large selection of Japanese swords (long and short) and tanto knives. They range in color and style, some with hidden daggers inside the handle, some with utility knives mounted along the outside of the scabbard. In addition to beautiful color schemes of reds, greens, blues, and blacks in marbled accents, they have handles in solid antiqued silver finish. Handsomely carved designs, these designs also come in washed gold and even in carved wood. All in place of the usual cord wrapped handles that are so common to Japanese swords. They also have those wonderful swords made famous by the Highlander movies and tv series. Both the white dragon handle carved with unique detail and the black dragon handle with its red jeweled eyes. A quite eerie effect. They also produce, besides the quite amazing ninja swords (with all their little hidden tricks!) the Japanese naginata and yari. The yari is a compact field spear, and the naginata is a very formidable polearm. They also have the ying/yang chinese kung fu sword, also referred to as the "Mandarin duck" sword. What is so unique about this sword is that when sheathed it looks just like a normal sword. but when unsheathed it splits down its length into two swords. Their Tai chi swords are also of wonderful workmanship. Now to their other swords. The "Terminator" as seen in the ad for the "Roc of Ages" convention in which detail can not be seen what appears to be an exceptionally fat hilt is actually a fiendishly evil looking skull with sharp pointed teeth! A very nicely made claymore with a rams head hilt would be more appropriate! Another one which was made for a Vamp is the Dracula sword. Bat wing hilt with the pommel (end of the handle) is the head of a vampire with red gems for eyes. In addition to the Conan the Barbarian dragon sword with its scallopod dagger hidde within the handle as I have told you about many times; they also have an Excalibur, and Robin Hood sword designs all quite nice. They also have very elegant Alexander the Great, and Julius Caesar short swords, as well as Richard the Lion hearted long swords and Viking swords. Charlemagne, El Cid, Lancelot, etc; all beautiful works of art and craftsmanship. One final thing before I move on: their daggers. A Greek dagger and a Roman one. But for fantasy, their Odin and Merlin daggers are wonderful. The Odin, a historically quite close pattern with rune designs. However I find the Merlin exceptional, a very sharply pointed double edged blade. The handle is four hooded cobras, their bodies wrapped around the handle ending in head flared, mouths open, and ready to strike. In between all four heads is a silver blue glass sphere. With its stilleto blade encased in a starburst sheath, and outstanding dagger! All of these can be acquired through "Stringtown Supplies." Or some of them can be found with the Edge Company. Yes I've finally convinced those chowder headed mortals to let me view their wares. And now I know why it was so hard to get them to agree to my request. It seems these people have been trapped in a never ending game of Paranoid! I'll explain, but first let me tell about their knives. One they call the dragon lord is a 17 and 1/2 inch nightmare of unique design. This thing is hard to describe, it looks like it could have been a tooth of a mutant dragon. Very strange yet fantastic! They also have a 6-carat blue topaz pendant which I'm sure would please any maiden. They have copies of the sword and dagger that Napoleon used, a Mortal Kombat raptor knife 13 and 3/4 inches of fighting power! And for the Rogue or other character, they offer pistol crossbows of diverse draw strengths. For the Living Jungle player, an obsidian knife, yes an obsidian blade mounted to crown stag antler with sinew; very nice! Hurling hand axes, specially balanced, throwing knives, and darts. Butterfly knives, blow guns and grappling hooks. An Arabian jambiya knife similar to the one used by Lawrence of Arabia. In addition to a regular crossbow, a warbird set that looks like something a Klingon would carry. And as seen in the movie, "The Shadow," a replica of the Phurba spirit dagger. They also offer 12th century (ball & chain) Battle Flail (one or two spiked balls), and a 15th century battle axe. But what is the most amazing is that they have somebody producing knives using Damascus steel! If you don't know what Damascus steel is, it is in my opinion the material to use to make blades high and low carbon steel folded together several hundred times, an ancient steel that puts all modern steel to shame! Now let me tell you about how these people are stuck in a game of Paranoid. Pepper gas disguised as a pager, devices that prevent your phone from being bugged electronically, mini torches, radar cloaking devices for your car, bullet proof vests, a survival knife that looks like a credit card, a sound jammer that prevents range microphones and/laser microphones from working. Cameras inside of clocks and smoke detectors, devices that disguise your voice, car alarms, stun guns, night vision equipment. Even picks for the Rougel Tear gas guns, knives and pepper gas inside working pens, wristwatch cameras. Taser guns, breath testers, etc, etc, etc, Well until next time. May your wits and weapons' edges always be razor sharp! Rau, Mystic Keeper of the Holy Armoury.
