Hmm, Situation: Cleric and Magic-User are in a underground duel/combat. Magic-User casts an Anti-Magic Shell. < > Cleric casts Rock to Mud on the ceiling of the underground cavern above the Magic-User (outside the range of the Anti-Magic Shell) When the mud hits the Anti-Magic Shell does it revert back to stone and kill the Magic-User?

Answer: Well first of all there is no such creature as a Magic-User!!! I have not met one yet that doesn't abuse their magic. Hence they are called Magic-Abusers." Back to the question at hand, I must disagree because once the spell (Rock to Mud) was cast, it is essentially non-magical.... Either way the Magic-Abuser would have been DEEP pile of mud (KIM chee).

If it were stone the Magic-Abuser would have been stoned to death, but in this case the Magic-Abuser is buried alive in mud. The weight alone of the mud should be enough to kill him, but then there are three other factors in that all wizard spells need at least one of the following:

  1. Verbal: How is the Magic-Abuser going to speak the verbal commands of the spell with a mouth full of mud
  2. Semantic: How is the Magic-Abuser going to do hand gestures with all that weight of mud on top of him/her
  3. Components: Mud and wet soil usually ruins all spell components.

So effectively the same results would have occurred. (My interpretation is just a iittle more graphic.) ((grin))

Can you guess that Al-Kim is not a lover of the wizard class? Al-Kim is actually a multi-class Priest(?). And Al-Kim is second only to her Deity in knowledge and demise of Magic-Abusers.

Oh Boy! Al-Kim smells another wizard among us. Gots to catches meself some dinner! ((grin))

Seeya next issue, Al-Kim signing off. (((POOF!)))
