Conwatch:

Origins 95

By Bill Brierton

It has been a long time since I have been to a "big" gaming convention. I almost forgot what it was like to be in a very large crowd of gamers. For four days every aspect of gaming was available. With the outdoor temperatures reaching 104 degrees, it was good to be inside enjoying the auction, the dealers room, the art room and the numerous games that were available.

I was surprised how well Andon Unlimited/Wizards of the Coast managed to keep things going without stepping all over each other. It was a little crowded at the registration booth but I did not see any delays in people being registered for the convention or the games.

My only two complaints were, that the auction was at the far end on the convention center, and the games were held in the same room with the dealers. It made for a rather noisy game and a lot of walking.

If you ever get the chance to attend a "big" convention than by all means do so, it may be a little expensive but in the long run it just might be worth it.

Speaking of which, Origins will be in my place of birth, Pittsburgh PA, next year. I plan to attend and hope those members that live nearby will make the trip. If you need to know the dates for Origins next year I do believe it will be in July. I cannot remember the exact dates but if anybody is interested let me know and when I find out I will pass along the information.
