Austrian "Regimental Days"

By Phil Gaffne

The following information is from Lucas J., Fighting Troops of the Austro-Hungarian Army, 1868-1914, Spellmount, 1987

As part of an Army order of 13 May 1888, each regiment of the Austro-Hungarian Army was to select for itself a 'regimental day', usually commemorating participation in a particular battle. it might be of interest to readers to note which regiments chose to commemorate a battle from the 1792-1815 period.
